Ciudad Quesada is a district municipality of Rojales in the province of Alicante, just minutes from the Mediterranean Sea. The Spanish businessman Justo Quesada founded the city in the 70s. This project was considered unique in Spain. Ciudad Quesada even had its own runway for light aircraft and in 1999 its own community hall. The airports of Alicante and Murcia are both about 50 kilometers away.
The area is extremely popular and has plenty of leisure activities such as its own water park, an 18-hole golf course "La Marquesa" and a well-designed infrastructure with numerous shops and restaurants open all year round. The many Blue flag beaches of Torrevieja, Guadamar del Segura, and Santa Pola are all within 15 minutes drive.
In recent years, the community has invested a lot of energy in the development of neighborhoods with good facilities. Rojales itself also has a municipal sports center and a theater. The old urban centers such as Barrio de la Cuevas have been renovated and now houses various artist studios. Every Thursday there is a market on Calle Albéniz Street. This market offers regional products such as vegetables, fruits, olives and fresh nuts, but also smoked fish, cheese, clothing and shoes.
